My 5 Favorite Ways to Relax
There are many different ways people rest and relax. Some like to take walks, some like to take naps, and others like to exercise. Here are five of my favorite ways to relax on weekends or whenever I have a few minutes of spare time.
Watching television or DVDs is always a great way to unwind and let my mind relax. This is especially true with all of the new ways of watching television shows and movies. We are no longer at the mercy of watching whatever’s on thanks to the internet and companies like NetFlix. Many popular shows now post episodes online so if you miss one, it’s easy to find it online. NetFlix makes it very easy to find movies you want to watch, and you don’t even have to leave your home since they mail the DVD right to you!
Alternatively, sometimes I like to curl up with a good book and a glass of wine or a cup of hot chocolate. This is especially nice after a long day of work when I just want to get away from the computer screen and don’t feel like watching television.
Another nice way of relaxing is to go out to dinner. I often head out to one of my favorite restaurants with friends to have a nice, relaxing meal and catch up. This is a good way of getting out of the house and being social while still relaxing and unwinding after a long day at work.
While exercising isn’t much of a form of relaxation for me (it is for some), I do like going for walks now and then. Sometimes just wandering around the neighborhood taking in the sights and sounds of a nice evening greatly relaxes me, and it gives me the chance to see what’s going on in the area.
Finally, my fifth favorite way of relaxing is to take a nice, hot shower. I know some women prefer to relax in a bubble bath, but that doesn’t quite work for me since I’m too tall to stretch out in the tub. A nice hot shower, especially if you have a massaging showerhead that has a massage setting, can really help release the tension in my muscles and leave me feeling clean and less stressed.
