A microphone stand, also referred to as a mic stand, is actually a free-standing mount utilized to hold a microphone. It enables the mic to be positioned on stage, or inside the studio without the need of a person to hold it. It has a holder attached to it, which holds the mike. The holder has screws that come with it. You simply have to put the mic inside the holder and fasten the screw.

These are typically utilized by stage performers while performing stage shows. These performers will use the stands as a base to place the mics.

These days, mic stands can be found in various innovative designs, colors and are of different quality. Some of the most typical kinds of microphone stands available nowadays are round base, tripod base, fast release and boom combo stands. These stands can cost you about $30. Another extremely well-liked type one is the Miceze M1 clamping base stand. This stand could be adjusted to any height as per your need.

If you are looking to purchase a microphone stand you have to take into account the following tips:

1. A fundamental one that’s great for residence use or other light-use objective is going to be compact and light-weight. Cost-effective, less pricey stands are normally built with foldable legs that expand further into a tripod. Such ones tend to be much less sturdy in comparison to heavy-duty stands with round, heavy bases. Nonetheless, if you wish to purchase a cost-effective one, a tripod-style, foldable stand will be your best bet.

2. If you are seeking sturdier ones, the round-base mic stands will probably be your ideal option. Such stands will be more suitable for both residence and professional use. Essentially the most fundamental microphone stand may be the straight one that may be simply built with a tripod base or perhaps a round base.

3. When trying to find one, first make certain that the stand is just not damaged and has no defects. If it has even minor damage, it will not hold the microphone correctly as well as the complete setup may possibly fall.

4. Ensure that the stand has an adjustable holder to extend or decrease its height.

It is recommended that you simply buy a mic stand of a reputed brand. Don’t forget to check the warranty period. Also, look for the provisions for repair or replacement.

A blonde with two red ears went to her doctor. The doctor asked her “What happened?” She answered, “I was ironing a shirt and the phone rang, but instead of picking up the phone I accidentally picked up the iron and stuck it to my ear.” “Oh Dear!” the doctor exclaimed in disbelief. “But what happened to your other ear?” “The person called back.”

A blonde suspects her boyfriend of cheating on her, so she goes out and buys a gun. She goes to his apartment unexpectedly and sure enough, she opens the door and finds him in the arms of a redhead. Well, the blonde is angry, she opens her purse to take out the gun but as she does so, she is overcome with grief. She takes the gun and puts it to her head. The boyfriend yells “No, honey, don’t do it.” The blonde replies “Shut up, you’re next.”

A blonde reports for her university final exam which consists of mainly true and false questions. She takes her seat in the examination hall, stares at the question paper for five minutes, and then in a fit of inspiration takes her purse out, removes a coin and starts tossing the coin and marking the answer sheet: true for heads and false for tails. Within thirty minutes she is all done, whereas the rest of the class is still working furiously. During the last few minutes, she is seen desperately throwing the coin, swearing and sweating. The moderator, alarmed, approaches her and asks what is happening. “I finished the exam in a half hour,” she replies. “Now I’m rechecking my answers.”

A blonde woman finds herself in dire trouble. Her business has gone bust and she’s in serious financial trouble. She’s so desperate that she decides to ask God for help. She begins to pray… “God, please help me. I’ve lost my business and if I don’t get some money, I’m going to lose my house as well. Please let me win the lotto.” Lotto night comes and somebody else wins it. She again prays “God, please let me win the lotto! I’ve lost my business, my house and I’m going to lose my car as well.” Lotto night comes and she still has no luck. Once again, she prays… “My God, why have you forsaken me? I’ve lost my business, my house, and my car. My children are starving. I don’t often ask you for help and I have always been a good servant to you. PLEASE just let me win the lotto this one time so I can get my life back in order.” Suddenly there is a blinding flash of light as the heavens open and she is confronted by the voice of God Himself: “At least meet me halfway on this — buy a ticket.”

A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the mechanic it died. After he works on it for a few minutes, it is idling smoothly. She says, “What’s the story?” He replies, “Just crap in the carburetor.” She asks, “How often do I have to do that?”

In deciding upon the perfect poker game for you, you should begin with one that has copious literature available, whether online or book format. Omaha, for example, is an interesting and profitable game but very difficult to get information on because there is very little written on the subject. Hold’em is where you should go. It is the most popular form of the game out there today in both actual and virtual casinos and so has much written about it.

Having decided that, there are still several more personal questions to ask yourself before deciding which Hold’em variant to try. It is of utmost importance for any poker player to know whether they are risk oriented or not, or, to be more exact, to what extant they like to risk.

If you are the one that goes sky-diving and opens your parachute at the last minute, you thrive on risk. If the mere thought of sky diving at all makes you quiver all over, you do not. If you fall into the first category of risk but cannot control your impulses, just watch other people play the game the game and stay out of it yourself. If you are unable to figure out the degree of risk you are comfortable with, there are tests available to help you determine this. For the risk takers, no-limit cash and tournament games are the best bets.

Next in your self-awareness exercise program is to determine if you are a mathematician or a behavioral psychologist. You calculators are meant for limit games. If you are able to discern the cards that your opponents have in their hands by reading various bodily signals, you are the one that should be in no-limit and multi table tournament (MTT) games.

Should you really want to invest some time and brain matter in the game, the complexity of no-limit and MTT games give you the best shot at developing as a player. For the dilettante, stay with sit-and-go tournaments and limit poker.

The least potential for players reach the heights of fame and fortune is in limit poker. The best games for would-be poker champs are tournament games and high profile no limit games.

Limit poker is far more prevalent and available online than in casinos or clubs. Tournament poker should gain the attention of all players in public establishments because it is the only form of the game officially designated as a sport.

If you are looking at playing poker as a major (or only) source of income, what you want to do is zero in on games with an excessive complement of weak players. Limit hold’em is not one of the forms of poker that fits this category because of the aforementioned plethora of literature on the game. Your target is no-limit and tournament poker, where of course you will focus on learning as much as you can about the game. As a beginner, stay below limits of even $1/$2. In SnGs go no higher than $20+$2, and for no-limit, below $100. At these lower limits, it is sufficient for beginners with a basic knowledge of the rules of the game to play without risking too much. Playing at higher monetary levels requires intense study of the game and a depth of experience. Even then, there is no certainty of consistently winning, but that’s why we play the game in the first place, lack of certainty.

All of these suggestions are preliminary for you to play and gain experience. With experience, you will be able to answer your own questions much more clearly.

The author is a successful limit cash game player. He plays poker online and receives Poker Nordica Rakeback as well as Doyles Room Rakeback.

A few nights ago a couple of friends called me up. Last minute thing. They’d gotten a couple of tickets to this show at a club. We didn’t even know what kind of show it was going to be. Since we had nothing to do, we went, not really expecting anything. What we saw completely blew us away. And then some. This guy we saw was the most skilled magician I’ve ever seen.

The first kind of trick was the basic, magician trick they most of them learn in magician school, or wherever they learn tricks. It was the basic sleight of hand trick, where they make stuff appear out of nowhere, and late make it reappear. They way he did it was pretty cool. He would space out the times when he made stuff appear, and disappear so that the crowd would forget what had gone away. Kind of like a skilled comedian will leave a crowd hanging for a while, and then deliver the punch line just at the right time.

After that, he did this crazy mental trick. He asked a few audience members to name a world city, then he asked different members to name famous people from history. He made sure that he picked people at random, with the crowd actually doing the picking. Then when he finished, he pulled out this crumpled up paper and had somebody in the crowd read it. It was a short essay involving all the world cities, and all the historical figures the crowd had named.

After that he started doing these wild psychic tricks. He pretended that he was a professional psychic, but he actually guessed people’s names and birthdays and all kinds of other secret stuff perfectly. People were really amazed at his abilities.

Up to now I could sort of figure out how he was doing it. But after the next trick, I give up. He picked a couple people at random, and hypnotized them. They they started guessing random information about people in the crowd. And they were dead on accurate. Drivers license numbers, numbers in peoples addresses, it was downright spooky.

I’d forgotten how incredibly entertaining magic can be. If you’ve never seen a magic show, or it’s been a while, you should check it out. Or better yet, learn some tricks yourself, so you can entertain others.

Here is a great card trick that is based largely in misdirection. It requires a little bit of set up, but with only a few minutes practice you should be able to effectively perform this successfully in front of any audience. This is a big hit with kids, as it doesn’t require any special sleight of hand moves, and it’s pretty simple once you figure it out.

This is how the trick will seem to your astounded audience. You take three Aces: Spades, Clubs, and Diamonds. You hold them out, showing them to the audience. Then you position them on top of the deck, and jumble up and cut the deck quite a lot of times, ensuring that they have been consistently dispersed.

You then ask a volunteer to come up and hunt for the Ace of Diamonds. They will look in vain, as they won’t be able to come across it. If you like, you can get an additional audience member to come up and search, but they too will be unsuccessful. Then you pull the Ace of Diamonds out of your shirt pocket. (Or your back pocket, or shoe, or wherever.)

Here’s how to set the ruse up. First discover all the Aces. Then put the Ace of Diamonds in your pocket (or shoe or wherever) beforehand. Then lay the other Aces on top of the deck. When you drag the three Aces off the top, and fan them out, make sure to hold the Ace of Hearts in the middle. If you place both other cards on either side of the Ace of Hearts, it will look like the Ace of Diamonds to the audience.

How you sound this is important. If you bring up beforehand that you are going to make the Ace of Diamonds disappear, they will be looking much more directly. But if you just start of by telling what you are doing, and then name the three cards (Ace of Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds) they will likely have faith in you, and not look too closely at the three cards.

One way that can incredibly help is as you are shuffling and cutting the deck, is to disclose some long winded story about how diamonds have some kind of captivating power, and in the old days when they were choosing the shapes for cards, they almost didn’t choose diamonds because people were always stealing them, or they were always disappearing or something. That way, when they start wondering about the Ace of Diamonds, it will already be secreted someplace in the deck, or so they think. Have fun with this trick.

This is a great up close and impromptu magic trick that is quick and easy to learn, yet will always amaze your friends. You can do this trick by itself, or as an introduction to some other tricks. It’s a good idea do this with a couple other simple card tricks, as you need a cheap deck of cards as the main prop. You wouldn’t want anybody accusing you of being a one-trick wonder, would you?

Here’s how the trick will look to you friends. You’re sitting around a table at a party or a bar, talking about whatever. You mention in an “oh by the way,” fashion that you’ve recently picked up some telekinetic skills. Obviously, their conversation will come to a dead halt as they demand a demonstration of your newly found gifts. Of course, since you’ve just learned these powerful skills, you can only move small objects. Of course, you tell them that you haven’t learned to lift up pool tables or anything like that.

You produce a deck of cards, take one out at random, and place it on the back of your hand. You invoke the magical powers of Zeus, or your favorite god whenever you use your telekinetic powers, and the card magically starts to bend according to your powerful mental will. After the card has bent according to your immense psychic energy, you claim that you have only studied enough to bend one card, and you need a rest. After that just return to talking about whatever you were talking about before you performed this magnificent illusion.

Here’s the trick. Before you announce your special powers, rub some water on the back of the hand that you are going to place the card on. You’ll need an inexpensive, non-laminated deck of cards. The cheap cards will be porous, and will naturally soak up that water that you have deftly rubbed on your hand. When it does this, it will naturally bend toward the curvature of your hand, amazing your friends in the process.

This is one of those tricks that require you talk a good game both before and after the illusion. If you only call attention to the card, and bend it for them, they’ll likely know that something is up. But if you build it up, and tell an interesting story beforehand, (get it, before hand?) and quickly cover it up with another story after the fact, it will go over much better.
